We’ll announce the call-out for conference proposals in the early autumn. We'll take this opportunity to test the 1.5-day conference format, which was the preferred option of 55% of respondents in the recent survey.
Meanwhile, we’re planning a bumper edition of Writing in Education for the autumn to coincide with the original conference dates, which will provide another opportunity to connect with your peers and share your practice.
We’re also putting in place a range of other ways that NAWE can support the membership as we navigate the coming months. Details about upcoming plans to follow.
We want you to know that we at NAWE are continuing to work hard for our members to help you navigate the coming months.
Along with our peer organisations, we've been advocating for the needs of freelance writers and writers in education with funders and other sector bodies. In response to the current crisis, the sector (Society of Authors, Arts Council England, Royal Literary Fund, English PEN, Amazon, The TS Eliot Foundation, Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, NAWE) has come together to create the Authors' Emergency Fund to help support authors impacted financially by Covid-19 and Arts Council England has also launched emergency funding that will be available to individuals.
On our website you’ll find a page of helpful Covid-19 information and advice which we’ll be regularly updating.
We will continue to make the case for our members and the sector as a whole.
Please do get in touch with any questions and ideas about how we could support you and we’ll do our best to help. You can contact us in the usual way.
